and friends
 Ingvar
performs the old fashioned way, with lots of audience
participation. Ingvar on the piano and friends leading the
sing-along. Ingvar's singing voice sometimes needs help, so he gets
people singing for him.
Song books are passed
out, and to liven things up he also does stand-up comedy and stage
antics. (Victor Borge has been Ingvar’s hero since childhood!)
"Working on the Railroad" has really never been meant to be a funny
song... but it is now. Ingvar+crowd+piano = fun.
Ingvar
has entertained in senior centers,
English pubs, Legions,
restaurants and country inns
since his high school days when he learned how to fake songs on the
piano. He still fakes them, but much better!
He was born and raised in Norway
and has lived in Canada and US for the past 38 years. His music and
antics have entertained folks since day one in Canada where he
played in the Seamen's Church and pubs in Montreal.
These days he lives in Vancouver and for fun he
races Dragonboats. He soon discovered that some of his team members
could sing, so often they tag along to make the show more... shall
we say... colourful.
Please
don't hesitate to call Ingvar for more information or to
book an event. He is very flexible since he's a geek and works from
home. The regular show’s duration is about an hour and change but he
also can provide an evening's worth of old fashioned piano music and
sing-along entertainment. A reasonable tuned piano and a microphone
(PA) is required. Since so far he's avoided schlepping gear around
to gigs.
His rates are reasonable - pending on location and duration of show. For example, a
one-hour sing-along/comedy routine in the Vancouver area is $65.00
+ Coffee and a glass of water. A cookie is always appreciated! White
Rock, Surrey etc. - $75.00. Langley up to
Chilliwack
- $ 85.00. Other locations - by arrangement. Rates valid until
August, 2009.
